We entered day 2 with a solid plan for filming and ended up spending about 5 hours getting all our shots. We experienced some camera issues at the beginning of day. Looking through the user manual and changing to the appropriate settings resolved these issues.
We really wanted to get tight camera shots and spent a lot of time clearing out "clutter" so only important elements were in the frame. We also took multiple takes of each shot to give us options when editing. Some of the effects took longer to coordinate. For example, the scene where I snap and change clothing took time to line up each shot. We did have some failed effects that were not included. We wanted to do an effect with making pancakes, where a design appears on the pancake when flipped. We spent a lot of time trying to coordinate this but it didn't end up working out. Other than that, there were not many issues with filming since it was so well planned out.
Editing took another 3-4 hours. Since we took multiple shots o each scene, we first had to weed through all the shots to find the best ones. We used Windows Movie Maker and initially ran into some major issues with the clips playing on our computer. We ended up installing the program on a newer computer and that resolved the problem. There were some problems with the sound. We selected the "emphasize video" option on clips that had dialogue- but this seemed to make the volume softer on the clips. After experimenting, it turns out that "emphasize nothing" and then manually turning up the video volume worked best.
We also decided to add the blooper reel at the end because there were too many funny shots to not include.
